Landlords, are you Renters Rights' ready?

Now we are into the New Year, the date for the implementation of the new Renters Rights’ Act  legislation is ever closer, the first reforms coming into effect from 1st May 2026.

Samuel & Son are providing a tenancy ‘checkup’ service.  We would like to help our Landlords act proactively to protect their investments, maintain good tenant relationships, and be well-positioned to navigate the new legal landscape.

To prepare, Landlords should:

  • Review tenancy agreements to make sure they provide for the new legislation and ensure all associated documentation has been served and is up to date.

  • Provide tenants with the new Government guidance leaflet, to be published shortly.

  • Ensure all safety documents and certificates are up to date.

  • Inspect properties now to address any potential hazards and bring homes up to the required standards.

  • Understand the new possession grounds.

Samuel & Son can assist you with all of the above along with any necessary work to get your tenancy up to date and compliant.  We are offering a range of options from an initial desktop tenancy review to a full property evaluation prior to the change in legislation.  We encourage Landlords to take action now for a smooth transition and avoid any last minute panic.

Please  contact us to talk about your rental property needs and we can discuss any work required to get your tenancy up to date, including issuing a new tenancy  agreement, serving documentation, Right to Rent Checks etc. and provide you with a quote.  Call us on 01435 810077.
