A two bedroom semi-detached period cottage in need of renovation with a large garden of about a third of an acre with a wonderful outlook over surrounding countryside to the rear.
The living accommodation is presently set over two floors with a sitting room and kitchen with fitted units on the ground floor and two bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor. The cottage is in need of renovation and modernisation throughout. The living space may potentially be extended subject to all necessary consents and we would advise all interested parties to make their own enquiries of the Local Planning Authority in this regard.
The property is set back off a quiet lane with sizeable lawned garden to the front and side of the cottage extending to about a third of an acre enclosed by a combination of fencing, mature trees and hedging. A shared pathway leads to the front entrance door. There is parking to the front of the cottage with a grass track leading to a dilapidated garage/store building situated to the west side of the cottage.
The property is situated in a peaceful rural location just outside of the pretty village of Chiddingly which provides a primary school, a popular public house and a farm shop, whilst the larger village of East Hoathly lies 4 miles to the north west and provides a store/Post Office, church, primary school, a public house and a café. The market town of Hailsham is some 5 miles away and has an excellent range of shops, supermarkets and amenities as well as a community leisure centre and theatre/picture house along with schooling for all ages. The historic county town of Lewes is some 10 miles away whilst the coast at Eastbourne is about 13 miles and the regional centre of Tunbridge Wells, approximately 20 miles to the north. Uckfield mainline train station is about 8 miles, (London Bridge), alternatively there is a mainline train service to London from Lewes (London Victoria). A public bus service operates from Golden Cross which is under a mile from the cottage and about a 10 minute walk providing links to local towns including Lewes, Uckfield, Hailsham and Eastbourne.
Mains electricity. The cottage has no central heating. Hot water is provided by an electric immersion heater. Private drainage.
