SITUATION
Gladeview Stables is situated within Wartling Wood to the north of Wartling Village.
The towns of Eastbourne and Hailsham are some 9 miles and 6 miles respectively. The access to the
property is off an unnamed lane that runs southwest off Wood Lane. The property enjoys a tranquil
and secluded rural location and is well located in terms of its proximity to local amenities and bridle
paths, with excellent hacking in the immediate area.
DIRECTIONS
From Hailsham head east on the A271. Having passed through the village of
Herstmonceux, after approximately half a mile turn right towards Pevensey and Wartling and
proceed for about ¾ of a mile before turning left into Wood Lane. After about a ¼ of a mile, take the
first right hand turn into an unmarked lane and the access to the property will be seen immediately on
the right hand side.
Alternatively from Eastbourne take the A259 to Pevensey Bay and at the roundabout head north
across Pevensey Marsh towards Wartling. Having passed through the village, with The Lamb Inn on
your right hand side, proceed for about 2 miles, passing the entrance to Herstmonceux Observatory
on your left and then shortly after, turn right into Wood Lane. Thereafter follow the directions as
above.
DESCRIPTION
The property is set in private rural location and comprises a stable block of timber
construction having 4 loose boxes and a feed/tack room with a separate barn providing additional
storage for hay and straw. There is a concrete standing running the length of the stable block.
Immediately adjoining the stables is approximately 4 acres of grazing, gently sloping away from the
buildings and divided into four separate paddocks by way of stock fencing and surrounded by
woodland. No public rights of way exist across the property. Access to the property is via a dirt
track off an unnamed lane that runs southwest off Wood Lane.
SERVICES
The stables are connected to mains water and have automatic feeders fitted and water is
connected to the adjoining grazing by way of water troughs. Power is currently provided via a
generator on site which will be included as part of the sale.
PLANNING
Planning was granted for the stable block under reference WD/99/1322/F. The current
planning conditions require that any purchaser must submit a new planning application to register the
