It also has a long seafront with pebble beach and promenade. The coastal town of Eastbourne is about 10 miles to the east and the historic county town of Lewes about 10 miles to the north west, both providing excellent shopping and leisure facilities. There are mainline rail services from nearby Berwick and Polegate train stations to London Victoria and Gatwick.
