Due to delays in Rural Land Registry mapping, only a small proportion of farmers have submitted applications, and subsequently been granted agreements, for Entry Level Schemes. Given that the process is undertaken by self assessment and, in particular in the High Weald, points are relatively easy to come by, we see that the Scheme is a relatively easy way of raising £30 per hectare per annum across the five year agreement. This is particularly the case where management options are likely to already be undertaken as part and parcel of a low input system. Should you wish to discuss this further then please do not hesitate to contact Andrew Samuel.
