Andrew Samuel MSc MRICS
Andrew Samuel has lived and worked in East Sussex since 1996. Starting his career with Strutt & Parker in Lewes he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1998 and moved to Charles Clark & Co, Heathfield, in 1999 for a six year spell before becoming a founder member of Samuel & Son. He has an Agricultural Honours Degree from Newcastle-upon-Tyne University, a Master of Science Degree from the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, in Rural Estate Management and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Andrew sits on the Wealden District Council Planning Panel and is the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) Chairman for Sussex. Additionally he has extensive expertise in the development of renewable energy and is the current chair of The Southern Renewable Energy Forum advising a number of private equity firms, institutions and individual land owners.
Dan Page BSc PGDipSurv MRICS FAAV
Dan grew up on his family’s farm at Toys Hill, Kent and in any spare time assisted his parents in the day to day management of their South Devon herd of cows and Romney/Suffolk mule lambing flock. Having graduated from the University of Bristol in 2006, where he obtained a degree in Geography, Dan took a few months to travel throughout Vietnam, Cambodia and Argentina and joined Samuel & Son on his return in March 2007. Following the completion of a two and a half year Post Graduate Diploma in Surveying, Dan graduated from the College of Estate Management with Merit honours in February 2010 before qualifying as a RICS Chartered Surveyor (Rural Practice) in May 2010. Dan is also a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV).
Away from the office Dan enjoys anything active and in particular is a keen cyclist. Dan is married with two young children.
Dan assists in all areas of the practice with a particular focus on rural planning and diversification, valuation, agricultural compensations and the new Basic Payment Scheme and CAP Reform.
Michelle Samuel MSc
Having moved to Sussex with Andrew in 1996, Michelle had a long spell with the NFU in Lewes, eventually managing this office and its move to Uckfield in 2003. After studying Business Studies at Staffordshire University she then completed a Master of Science Degree in Agricultural Food Marketing at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. Despite having two young boys to look after, Michelle is actively involved in the day to day running of the business.
William Fraser BSc MRICS FAAV
William Fraser grew up on his family dairy farm in Egerton, Kent. In more recent years the family have diversified from the traditional dairy unit into a well established function and catering venue within which William has played an active role throughout university holidays and assists where possible in his spare time. William joined the Samuel & Son team as a trainee Land Agent, having graduated from the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, in 2013 where he gained a degree in Rural Land Management. William qualified as a full Chartered member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rural Faculty) in May 2016 and became a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) in November 2016.
Out of the office, William spends a lot of the summer playing cricket and is a member of both Egerton and Marden Cricket Clubs and has a keen interest in all field sports.
Rhiannon Rosser BA (Hons)
Rhiannon Rosser lives with her partner on their farm at Seaford Head where they have a flock of 1000 ewes and 150 cattle. Rhiannon studied French and History at Royal Holloway University of London, spending one year living and studying in Switzerland. Having worked for Moët Hennessy UK Ltd for 6 years in sales and marketing and subsequently logistics, she joined Samuel & Son in April 2008 to work on the property sales and lettings side of the business as well as being responsible for advertising and marketing. With two young children at home, Rhiannon is presently working part time concentrating on property marketing and the firm’s marketing and events.
